Powering Your Community Fund
Effective 1 April 2025
These terms and conditions apply to anyone who submits an application, or is a recipient, for the Pulse Energy Powering Your Community funding round commencing in April 2025.
Grant Details
- There are up to 7 grants available.
- Each grant is worth $1,000 NZD (incl GST).
- The Grant Application Period commences at 12pm on Tuesday 1 April and closes at 5pm on Tuesday 27 May 2025.
- Applications must be submitted online through https://pulseenergy.co.nz/powering-yourcommunity-fund/
- By submitting an application for the Grant, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Conditions of Eligibility
To be eligible for Pulse Energy’s Powering Your Community Fund your project must:
- Be associated with education, innovation, charity, sports or hobbies.
- Be a not-for-profit club, school or local project that is based in New Zealand.
- Be submitted by an applicant who is 18 years or older.
- All sections of the application form must be completed.
- Multiple, incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entry (as determined by Pulse Energy) will be deemed invalid.
- Recipients must provide a photo(s) to Pulse Energy that represents their organisation. The recipient gives permission to Pulse Energy to use this photo for promotional use.
Individuals submitting the application must:
- Have the rights to submit on behalf of the project and give permission for Pulse Energy to use your name and project details for promotional purposes if you're successful.
- The successful Recipient must be available for the preparation of all publicity that may be reasonably required by Pulse Energy, including, but not limited to interview, photography and film undertaken and content created for the use in promotional campaigns.
Use of Grant Funds:
- Must be used for the purpose stated in the application and cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash or other prizes.
- Cannot be used for illegal activities or personal expenses.
- Recipients may be asked to provide a brief report on how the money was used within 6 months of receiving the payment.
Selection Criteria:
- A selection panel will review all applications and applications will be judged on merit, need, and potential impact.
- The selection of Recipients by the panel is final, and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Recipients will be selected by Friday 13 June 2025 and notified by email.
- Selected recipients must respond within 3 weeks from the date the recipient was notified of their success. If there is no response of acknowledgement from the recipient within this timeframe, Pulse Energy reserve the right to forfeit the prize and select an alternative winner.
- If selected as a Recipient, you will need to be available for publicity at a date agreed upon by the recipient and Pulse Energy.
- In the event that, for any reason whatsoever, Pulse Energy deems that a Recipient does not comply with the Terms and Conditions, then the Grant will be forfeited by the Recipient.
- It is a condition of accepting the Grant that the Recipient, if requested to do so by Pulse Energy, sign and return documents relating to their eligibility to enter (including ownership of entry), statement of compliance with relevant terms and conditions, and any other relevant legal documents.
Payment of Grants:
- Grant funds must be paid into a registered not-for-profit bank account held by the organisation.
- Recipient must provide a copy of a verified bank statement with the organisation name and address.
- Payment will only be made once all the criteria has been met, as per the Terms and Conditions.
- The Grant is a one-off payment and not recurring.
Changes and Cancellations:
- Pulse Energy takes no responsibility for any lost, late, or illegible entries, incorrect entry information, human error, technical malfunctions or any other error or malfunction.
- Pulse Energy reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the Grant funding round and these terms and conditions without notice.
- Pulse Energy reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms and conditions. Any changes will be communicated on our website.
- Employees of Pulse Energy, their immediate families, and employees of any agencies connected in any way with the Grant or helping to set up the Grant are ineligible to enter.
- Pulse Energy reserves the right to award less than the stated number of Grants should they deem there aren’t enough suitable Applicants. In which case, the remaining Grants will be forfeited.
- All costs associated with the application or receiving the Grant, are the responsibility of the Applicant.
- Pulse Energy is not responsible for the cancellation, delay or rescheduling of any part of the Grant funding round and any resulting costs incurred by the Applicant will be the responsibility of the Applicant.
- Pulse Energy will use information submitted by applicants for the grant application process to contact applicants for potential successful application notification, and for marketing and promotional purposes. Any personal information will be held by Pulse Energy in accordance with their Privacy Policy which can be found at pulseenergy.co.nz/privacypolicy/. You may access and request the correction of any of the personal information Pulse Energy holds about you.
