In July 2024, Pioneer Energy Renewables became the main shareholder of Pulse Energy. The ownership structure allows us to source more power for our customers from renewable energy sources as Pioneer Energy Renewables intends to invest more in renewable energy schemes in the future.

With deep roots in Central Otago, Pioneer Energy Renewables operates 20 different energy schemes across Aotearoa New Zealand. A number of renewable energy projects are currently under development by the wider Pioneer Energy Group. This includes the Jericho and Kaihiku Wind Farms in South Otago and Fiordland.

In December 2022, there was a soil turning ceremony at the site of Lodestone Energy’s first solar farm in Kaitaia.

The ground was blessed by kaumatua from local iwi, Te Rarewa, followed by a tree planting ceremony. Beyond the energy the farm will be generating, around seven hectares of land will be reforested with native trees.
