Pulse Energy wins Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers | Bundled Utilities 2020 award

It’s official: Pulse Energy is at top of the charts when it comes to customer satisfaction! 

That’s according to Canstar Blue, a customer satisfaction research group founded back in 2011. Since then, the organisation has picked the brains of more than 42,000 Kiwis to get a better understanding of how consumers feel about a wide range of products, from refrigerators to potato chips and everything in between.

Recently, Canstar Blue set out to discover which bundled utility provider has the most satisfied customers - and guess who came out on top? Read on to learn more about the decision-making process and find out what made the judges award us the big blue badge.

The rise of the bundle deal

Over the past decade or so, broadband Internet has gone from being a nice-to-have to an essential utility, along with traditional utilities like electricity, water and gas. It’s not surprising, then, that many electricity companies - including us! - have begun offering electricity and broadband Internet as a bundled package. 

These bundled deals are just what they sound like: a combination of multiple services under a single account to create one awesome household utility package. There are a few benefits to bundling your home utilities:

  1. Bundled deals are typically offered at a discount price compared to paying for each individual service, which allows you to save money on your utility bills.
  2. Consolidating your utilities into a single account makes for easier bill management.

Pulse Energy tops the bundled deal satisfaction charts

While many electricity providers now offer bundled utilities, not all bundle deals are created equal.  

To help prospective customers make a more informed decision, Canstar Blue spoke to more than 750 bundled utilities customers to find out which provider offers the best level of customer satisfaction. Each utility provider was rated across the following satisfaction variables:

  • Value for Money
  • Customer Service
  • Bill and Cost Clarity
  • Tools and Advice
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Overall Satisfaction

The results have recently been announced, and we’re stoked to report that Pulse Energy received the highest rating. 

“Coming out on top is Pulse Energy,” noted the report from Canstar Blue. “The community owned company, which offers electricity, solar, gas and broadband plans, is the standout performer in our inaugural award for Most Satisfied Customers | Bundled Utilities.”

The report noted that cost savings and customer service were the main drivers of customer satisfaction. Pulse Energy scored a 5 Star rating across all five satisfaction variables and was the only provider to earn a 5 Star rating for Overall Satisfaction.
