Mitch Hunt’s Hummus


  • 420 g can chickpeas
  • 2 tsp tahini
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp cold water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper


  1. Drain the chickpeas and pour them into a food processor or blender.
  2. Throw in the tahini, cumin seeds, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper and olive oil and switch on the blender.
  3. Add water while blending to achieve a nice, creamy consistency. Add more water as required.
  4. Spoon the hummus out of the blender and serve with crackers or toasted pita bread!
